The Heart and Vascular Center at Memorial Hospital performs cardiovascular interventions in a state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab. The Center can treat blocked heart, leg and arm arteries with balloons and stents.
The cardiac cath lab is available 24/7 for emergency procedures. The national benchmark for patients experiencing a heart attack is to open blocked arteries with balloon angioplasty in less than 90 minutes from arrival to the Emergency Department. Our goal is to exceed that benchmark in York County by working closely with our EMS providers to expedite our response to these medical emergencies.
Our cardiologists, who are part of York Heart and Vascular Specialists, are specially trained in heart and vascular medicine. They specialize in opening blocked arteries in the lower leg which improves quality of life and may prevent the need for amputations.
In this section is more information about the invasive cardiology procedures offered at the Heart and Vascular Center.
