Nutritional Services
All of us, at one time or another, have wondered what or how much we should eat. Never before has there been so much discussion about nutrition or so many answers designed to help us improve our eating habits. Finding the right answers can be the confusing part. It is often easy to find information about nutrition, especially if you use the Internet, but the information found may not be the right choices for you.
PERSONALIZED COUNSELING SESSIONS
Many people tell us, “I’m not like other people. I never eat three square meals a day.” If you can relate to that statement, you are not alone. In today’s busy world, it can be difficult to choose the best foods for your body. No matter the reason, Memorial Hospital can assist you with your unique dietary needs.
How can soy fit into my diet? Is my herbal supplement right for me? Can eating better prevent cancer? Whatever the question, we can try to help you find the answer.
Counseling sessions are conducted by a Memorial Hospital dietitian and are individually designed to assist with your specific dietary needs, while including your personal likes or dislikes, your ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds, and your lifestyle. The initial counseling session, usually 45 minutes to one hour in length, includes nutrition analysis and development of the tailored eating plan.
Our dieticians can teach you to:
Understand a diet your physician has asked you to follow.
Make wise choices at the grocery store.
Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced menus.
Choose healthier foods when eating out.
Studies show the best way to change poor eating habits and learn how to make healthy choices is through the guidance and care of a registered dietician.
